Before writing blogs for Ubuntu and Linux Programming, I must first have tools for capturing screenshots of windows or specific areas. ASAP, Google "ubuntu screen capture" and get useful information in the first page:
installed in Ubuntu, so you can use hotkeys to trigger functions of screenshot. All these hotkeys (shortcuts) can be redefined as follows:
 |
Dash Home / Shortcut |
"Dash Home" in the left-top corner is very helpful to get system functions by typing characters. For example, I want to know how to set hotkeys (shortcuts). Bingo! I fount it soon.
 |
Dash Home: type and get relevant Apps |
 |
Dash Home: find scr* |
If you want to take a arranged snapshot of screen with mouse cursor, selected item or typing characters, it better to set enough delay time for you to arrange your desktop.
Screen-tools are also list by typing "scr". Kazam is another snapshot tool that supports
screencast.

Kazam |
In conclude, following shortcuts are enough for me to write Ubuntu blogs with pictures as the "truth".
- Print Screen: take the screenshot of the whole Screen.
- Alt+Print Screen: take the active window's snapshot.
- Shift+Print Screen: take the snapshot of selected rectangle.
I was surprised that Ubuntu already equipped with widely used Apps in the default installations.
